Renewable Energy
Accent Environmental provides specialist environmental and social assessment and management services for renewable energy projects and associated infrastructure, including solar farms, wind farms, hydropower projects, battery storage, pumped hydro and thermal (geothermal, bioenergy, waste-to-energy).
Solar Power
Accent Environmental has a major presence in the solar energy sector, supporting its rapid expansion across Australia. Our solar work focusses particularly on large, utility-scale solar farms. Accent’s role includes providing strategic environmental permitting and planning advice, conducting site constraints analysis, undertaking environmental impact assessments, supporting development applications, preparing management plans for construction and operation, and undertaking compliance monitoring and auditing.
Our projects include preparing Environmental Impact Statements (EISs) and achieving development consent for three OX2 Australia utility-scale solar farms in New South Wales , preparing construction and operational management plans for PCL solar farm projects in New South Wales and Queensland to obtain secondary consents, and compliance monitoring and auditing for Neoen in New South Wales , and Mytilineous solar farm projects in New South Wales and Queensland.
Our spatial and visual impact assessment team has also prepared visual impact assessments and undertaken glint and glare modelling for numerous solar projects.
Wind Power
Accent Environmental has undertaken work for numerous wind power projects in NSW, Victoria and South Australia. Our projects include preparing environmental management plans (EMPs) for major utility-scale projects, including the overarching construction and operation environmental management plans for the huge, 1,333 MW Golden Plains Wind Farm in Victoria.
Tamworth BESS with Valent Energy
Battery Storage (BESS)
Accent Environmental understands the significant contribution of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESSs) in bolstering stability and efficiency within renewable energy networks. Our experience includes preparing EISs and supporting the development applications for two standalone BESS projects in NSW, and assessing numerous BESS facilities integrated into wind or solar projects across eastern Australia.
Hydropower
Hydro-electricity is a major energy source across South East Asia. At Accent Environmental we have been involved in the environmental and social assessment, review of numerous projects. In association with ESL Sole in Lao PDR, Accent has facilitated environmental work for the Nam Lik 1 hydropower project and the Xekong 3A-3B hydropower project and has undertaken an independent review of the Environmental and Social Impact Assessment of the Phou Ngoy hydropower project.
